Part 12 – Asking, Seeking, Knocking
Matthew 7:7-11

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” Matthew 7:7-8 NIV
Jesus is telling people to seek God’s kingdom and then God for things
“Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” Psalm 37:4 NIV
Delighting in God means you Him, and he will always give you more of Himself.
9 “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? 11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!” Matthew 7:9-11 NIV
3 Reasons God Wants us to Ask Him for Things

The risk is not thinking God is too generous and being disappointed; the risk is thinking God is and asking for too little or for things that do not .
2 Applications
1) Rethink How You
“God will either give us what we ask or give us what we would have asked if we knew everything he knows.” Tim Keller
2) Ask for Things
There is nothing bigger than being a part of God fulfilling ; everything else we ask for pales in comparison—even the good things.
