August 11, 2024Blueprints Part 10 – Living God-dependent
Guest Speaker: Andy Lackey
James 4:13-17
13 Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” 14 Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. 15 Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.” 16 As it is, you boast in your arrogant schemes. All such boasting is evil. 17 So then, if you know the good you ought to do and don’t do it, you sin. James 4:13–17 (TNIV)

Application
- Consider in what ways you might now be pursuing your own plans without any consideration of God’s will or guidance.
- Do your plans align with God’s Word?
- Begin every day by spending time with the Lord. It is difficult to carry out your day with a God-directed mindset if you have not even given Him a thought or spent any time with Him. Meet with the Lord in prayer and in His Word so you can feed your soul and prepare for the day ahead.
- Are there any areas of your life that God has called you to, yet you have ignored or put off? Don’t wait, but instead, act upon what God has called you to do.
